What Leaders Permit Becomes Culture
Leadership is not proven by what you say when things are easy. It is revealed by what you tolerate when it is difficult to address. Most leadership failures are not the result of a lack of intelligence or vision. They are the result of avoiding conversations that should have happened earlier and enforcing standards only when it is convenient.
Every time a leader permits what he should address, he is forming the people around him in the practice of lowered expectations. And people formed in lowered expectations are not people who flourish.
